Ingredients Glossary

Aloe Butter (Organic) - Contains nutrients, minerals, amino acids, and vitamins that help to treat sunburn and chapping, as well as psoriasis and eczema. Also speeds up the healing of stings and insect bites.

Aloe Vera Gel (Organic) - Has antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Moisturizes the skin and improves complexion and skin tone.

Beeswax - A Natural emulsifier used in lipsticks, lip balms, and candles. Contains no synthetics, debris, filler, or foreign fragrances.

Borax Powder (Sodium Borate) - An emulsifier, natural preservative, and buffering agent for moisturizers, scrubs, and bath salts.

Candelilla Wax Flakes - from the Mexican Candelilla plant, this wax can be used in place of beeswax for vegan formulations.

Carnauba Wax Flakes - From the leaves of the Brazilian wax palm tree (Copernicia prunifera), often used in tandem with candelilla wax. Excellent choice for lip balms and lipsticks.

Carrot Seed Essential Oil - Contains vitamins, minerals and beta carotene and is effective in the treatment of premature aging, eczema, and psoriasis.

Chamomile, Roman Essential Oil- An antiseptic and astringent used in the treatment of nervous conditions and insomnia. Very effective in treating sensitive, dry, and inflamed skin.

Citric Acid - Natural PH adjuster from citrus fruits and acts as a thickener in lotions.

Cocoa Butter (Organic) - An aromatic solid butter that helps to reduce dryness and improves skin elasticity. Heals marks as well as wrinkles.

Coconut Oil, Fractionated - Very lightweight, quickly absorbed oil

Corn Starch (Organic) - an ultra-fine powdery flour used in creams and lotions as a thickener.

Dead Sea Salt - Enriched with minerals and vitamins to give you fresh, radiant skin. Helps to heal acne, eczema and soothes arthritis and muscular pain.

Epsom Salt - Used in bath salts to sooth, relax, and relieve sore muscles. Has medicinal benefits and supplies the body with magnesium and sulfates.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil- Has analgesic, diuretic, and antibiotic properties, as well as an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Effective against colds, coughs, and sunburn.

Evening Primrose Oil (Organic) - Contains gamma lanoline acid, vitamins and minerals that help with psoriasis and eczema, as well as menopausal problems.

Fennel Essential Oil - Has ant wrinkle and ant aging properties and increases the elasticity of the connective tissues of the skin.

Geranium Essential Oil - An antiseptic and astringent with a floral fragrance, which is effective in the treatment of endometriosis, menopausal problems, diabetes, and blood disorders. Also works well as a sedative.

Ginger Essential Oil - An analgesic that helps with colds, nausea, muscular aches, and digestive disorders.

Grapefruit Essential Oil - Used as a tonic that helps with obesity, migraines, depression, and kidney and liver problems.

Grapeseed Oil (Organic) - Heals sunburn, reduces puffiness, repairs damaged and stressed skin. Has a high amount of Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Beta-Carotene.

Green Tea Leaves (Organic) - Rich in EGCG, which is a powerful antioxidant that has been known to kill cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It also has been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels. It does contain small amounts of caffeine but not as much as coffee.

Green Tea Extract - Leaves of Camellia Sinesis Shrub - Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and astringent

Jasmine Essential Oil - A relaxant used to treat menstrual problems, anxiety, lethargy, and depression.

Jojoba Oil - Obtained from the crushed bean of the jojoba shrub. this oil helps to prevent lines and wrinkles. Also aids in the healing of psoriasis and eczema while soothing and moisturizing the skin.

Lavender Essential Oil - A natural antibiotic, antiseptic, antidepressant, sedative, and detoxifier which promotes healing and prevents scarring. Effective in the treatment of burns and scalds.

Lemon Essential Oil - An antiseptic and antibacterial oil that is said to help disperse cellulite and keep wrinkles to a minimum.

Lecithin - Lecithin is a naturally occurring group of phospholipids that can be found in plants and animals cells. It has been used in the food and cosmetic industry as a lipophilic emulsifier and thickener. Lecithin is very rich in the B complex vitamins and is highly nutritive for the skin and hair. It is best used in heavier, creamier formulations and can be used with the beeswax and borax combination.

Lime Essential Oil - An astringent and tonic used for treating headaches, depression, anxiety, fevers, and sore throat.

Mango Butter (Organic) - Acts as a mild lubricant for the skin, can heal skin rashes, skin peeling after tanning, and relieves itching skin.

Neroli Essential Oil- Used to treat anxiety, hysteria, nervous tension, dermatitis, and menopausal problems.

Oatmeal - Soothing, softening, mild exfoliant

Olive Oil - Emollient, healing, soothing

Palma Rosa Essential Oil - A sedative and diuretic that helps with nervous conditions, menstrual problems, and menopausal problems.

Paraffin Wax - A waxy white or colorless solid hydrocarbon mixture used to make candles, wax paper, lubricants, and sealing materials.

Patchouli Essential Oil - antiseptic oil used to treat skin inflammations, fungal infections, acne, and eczema.

Peppermint Essential Oil - An anti-inflammatory and antiseptic used in the treatment of indigestion, headaches, migraines, skin irritations, toothache, and fatigue. Also keeps mice, fleas, and ants away!

Polysorbate 20 (Olives) - Emulsifier, solubulizer of oils

Purified Water - Pure, distilled water from a natural spring.

Rosemary Essential Oil - A physical and mental stimulant excellent in the treatment of arthritis, depression, fatigue, migraines, headaches, memory loss, coughs, and the flu.

Rosemary Oleoresin Extract (ROE) - Powerful antioxidant to delay rancidity of delicate vegetable oils

Sage Essential Oil - An astringent that helps to heal sores, bacterial infections, arthritis, bronchitis, fibrositis, and sprains.

Shea Butter - This plant butter is produced from the nuts of the large Karite tree in West Africa and is used to firm up aging skin and clear wrinkles. Also fortifies cuticles and nails and heals stretch marks, scars, and burns. Naturally contains Vitamins A and E.

Squalane (Olives) - Moisturizes, softens the skin, reduces small facial wrinkles and speeds wound healing

Sweet Almond Oil - Contains glycosides, minerals, and vitamins and is good for relieving dryness, soreness, and inflammation.

Sweet Orange Essential Oil - a tonic, sedative and antiseptic that aides with constipation, muscular spasms, depression, and nervous conditions

Tea Tree Essential Oil - An antifungal and antibacterial skin soother used to treat acne, athlete's foot, ringworm, sunburn, and all sorts of infections.

Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E) - Pure Vitamin E Oil that works to restore, heal, and moisturize skin. Contains natural antioxidants.

Vanilla Essential Oil - Derived from the vanilla bean, has soothing, fragrant effects.

Vegetable Glycerin - A natural emollient that helps to retain moisture and pulls oxygen into the skin.

Witch Hazel Extract - A natural astringent that is used to treat skin irritations, inflammation, insect bites and burns.

Xanthan gum - A natural thickener derived from corn sugar. It produces high viscosities at low concentrations (.5 - 2%), is soluble in hot and cold water and is tolerant to salt, pH and temperature changes. It can thicken and add volume to lotions, creams and gels. It also works as a suspension agent.

Ylang-Ylang Essential Oil- A sedative and general tonic that aids in the treatment of depression, high blood pressure, and anxiety. It is very useful for dry, oily, or combination skin.
